If you're looking to get some of your readers as angry as you are, by quoting Fox news and the Trump minions, you are succeeding ;)

I don’t get angry. (Unfortunately I cannot get even either) On the contrary I find it illuminating. Fox News might not be news, but it certainly tells a lot about how MAGA thinks. But I do get sad by Fox behavior. The biggest hope I actually have for Ukraine is US hellbent on dismantling their own state. That will occupy them. And given what Stefan writes, another six months or so will make it worse for Russia. So, from Ukraines point of view Trumps purges provides time.

I agree. I also feel the U.S. can't do much more. I assess the U.S. to be a military basket case. The next time it is tested in any real way everyone will be surprised but me, and my guess you and the readers here. Ukraine's most important successes have been homegrown in my book.

Fox News is simply disgusting.

I think it shows us what gutless, cringing cowards our "leaders" are: they project their own cowardice and lack of resolve on the Ukrainian military and citizens, unable to believe that there's anything (other than $$ and power) worth getting your hands dirty, let alone risking life, limb, liberty to repel a barbaric, often incompetent invasion. Perhaps this explains why we no longer win the wars our "leaders" start - when the going gets tough, the toffs who rule us get going in making up excuses for why it's all just too hard, nobody could win in these circumstances, - or scratch that - we actually did win! The plebes are just too stupid to understand the 10-dimensional chess we wise men are playing .... God damn every one of them!

Brilliant Stefan, thankyou. Wish you could write an article in the NY times, put them straight or go on Fox or meet with Rubio something!

I think that is a good idea. Now maybe New York Post instead? More reach towards the audience. Or maybe ten «X-messages» in a row. To reach the audience again.

Everyday my feed delivers a moment of pure joy. Normally it’s Chris Wiki or Darth but today you have the moment of levity award to add balance to this serious and tragic period, so “Biden and Kirby look like the reincarnation of Bismarck, Metternich and Tallyrand” hit my spot. I wonder if anyone knows who they were and if they did, whether they appreciated their talents. Probably not to both

I keep looking for indications that team Trump might actually accomplish a just, fair and reasonable “deal” (in quotes to emphasize the dubious use of the term) for Ukraine in the upcoming “peace negotiations” (ditto). So far, I’m disappointed, or at least not optimistic.

My worst fear is that under Trump’s guidance and direction, with his notorious biases, Kellogg will carry out talks with team Putin and Zelensky and then huddle in Washington, draw up their version of the “deal”, show up at a table somewhere with little flags and tell Ukraine to “sign here or else…”.

I keep looking for indications that Europe will pick up enough backbone and support to make up for the Trump steam roller, before anything gets worse. Given enough to hold the line, the ramping up of deep strikes using Ukraine home grown drone ops, on well selected targets like oil refining, and airfields could drive a Russian military collapse that Putin can no longer hide or survive. That scenario is still in play.

How much Europe will do to support Ukraine is US stops is difficult to predict. I think it depends a lot of how frustrated Europe is with Trump art hat stage. If they really understand that they cannot trust US, well then we might support Ukraine seriously. Because of self interest. Which after all is a strong motive.

Wow, what a review. As always, you lift my spirits. Gawd, FOX news is full of a bunch of defeatists. Glad we don't watch it here in Canada!

Thanks for the update Stefan. Very much appreciated the high-lighting of European aid crossed with the Rubio interview.

Europe doing something and America doing..."something" 🤷🏼‍♂️🤦🏼‍♂️.

The funny thing about the new MAGA coterie is how they were personally humiliated and insulted by Trump. Now Lil Marco and lady “Blood” are discussing Ukraine. Don’t they have any dignity!?

What keeps me sane about this administration is that I am trying to follow up actions, not words.

Because I am sure that we'll witness many 180 degrees turns and lots of dizzy about-faces in the coming months. Which are expected to be quite chaotic.
